Fat Lizzy - Just a boat concept for an animated short a colleague is currently on... This wasn't in the style that was originally wanted. But enjoyed working on it anyway.

Subzero "High in the sky!" - I'm part of a group art blog each week my friends and I come up with different subjects to work on. This one was called "Subzero".
Working with friends... constructively criting each others work, sharing
techniques, swapping brushes and discussing ideas has helped and encouraged me loads! So inspiring! This is the second image I've done for own
art meetings and its going on leaps and bounds.

Paperboy - This was for a GameArtisans "Extreme makeover" Illustration comp...!
Paperboy redesign synopsis: When it came to redesigning this character I was pretty sure of what routes I wanted to steer clear of ie: The cheeky, clean, likable boy. I want to inject a bit of an edge to paperboy, make him a bit more street wise. I hate naming actors to describe a character, its a cop out. ¦¬)
But for speedy purposes; He's kinda like John Conor (Edward Furlong) in Terminator 2 and Jay (Emile Hirsch) from
Lords of Dogtown. Basically he's a troubled and angry young runaway so to make ends meets he is a courier for drug dealers. The Paperboy is just a front. He's been exposed to life on the streets and many of the harsh realities that most kids don't experience. Drugs and violence rule his world and the authorities are mostly onlookers that just cross his path from time to time. But he's a surviver! Street knowledge and some
dream of a better life motivates him... RIP the old carefree innocent paperboy.
A paperboy of the 21st century is born and nursed by the filth of modern society.

The 11th Victim
- This was an illustration I created for the Boulder Media Art blog. (Boulder Media is a Dublin based animation studio, which has an art blog that holds fortnightly projects.)
The theme was simply "No.11".
I have been focusing on my colour theory lately. i tried to create an eerie mood, hinting at mysterious shadows and leaving things to the imagination.

Death of a Fortune Teller
- This is an illustration I created inspired by the short "Death of a Fortune Teller" writen by Casey James & the Staypuft Kid.

Death Of A Fortune Teller

Sleigh bells on the door; the thick musk of incense, dragged out by the November wind, climbing over the tops of taxis and shoving its ways through paper bags, old rubbers and the sludge of leaves.. this was the hustle and bustle of the Chicago gutter.

The door continued to beat against the wind. Madam Dukker’s eyes, frozen in the same shrewd glare they had held all her life, staring sideways across the table cloth in a haze of cigarette smoke dripping from the the long thin wire of ash, hovering low in the the lavender glow of the crystal and the flicker of the of old black and white TV. Business was slow. It’d be a while before anyone found her.

A short detour through Sister Marie Alphonsus’ sinal passages (and a curt nod to the cathedrals frankincense which had taken a permanent residence there) and she was finally on the interstate slipstreamed in big-rigs, flashing chrome silhouettes of busty mud flaps, beaconing her into the unknown.

Ecstacy of Gold -
Just a quick painting of one of my favourite movie scenes from Good, Bad and the Ugly. Love the music in this scene and Eli Wallach acting is superb his run was so funny in the movie!

Red sky in the morning soldiers warning! - The back story; A king asks for a powerful warlock to help him defeat a neighbouring empire. The warlock agrees to help him in return for his daugher's hand in marrage. After the war the king was so frightened after witnessing the power of the warlock. Fearing for his own kingdom and perhaps never intending the warlock to wed his daughter. So the King sent three assassins to kill the warlock.
They failed! And now... the warlock is coming to kill the king for his betrayal. He needed to trap the soul of a bear to become the engine for his creation, in order to bring his Keep to life. The fur and claws are left overs from the bears mortality. When a spell is cast by Warlocks and other mortals that dabble in magic they work on instinct. They never fully know exactly how their creation will appear. Once the fundamentals function how they want... the spell is considered a success! Many a warlock have died from their own spell casting.

The Child of Orbus - I haven't made many 3D characters. But really enjoyed this and totally going to start creating more. I normal mapped this character. Then normal maps aren't very obvious... but still thought zbrush was really cool.

Dog Tooth - Another 3D character. Created for a Cgchat Vs Polycount competition.
